Podere le Rondini is located in Poppiano village, near Montespertoli, in the heart of Chianti. This is both a farmhouse and a villa for holidays. It is the best choice per very large groups, up to 29 people (but small, private and independent apartments per 4-6 persons are available too). Each accommodation is provided with fully equipped kitchens, outdoor garden for BBQs and all that you need in order to spend a nice Xmas and New Year together with your friends and relatives!
As already mentioned, the farmhouse may accommodate also small groups or couples: the different accommodations, in fact, are completely independent or may be linked together thanks to internal doors that may be kept closed or open according to the guests’ needs. In any case the privacy of each guest is preserved. Few minutes far from the Podere Le Rondini, you may enjoy a very nice horse-riding centre: you will have the possibility to visit & see the Chianti from a completely different point of view: on horseback, on the Chianti ancient trails! And, last but not least, the owners of Podere le Rondini cook wonderful food for their guests! Also on New Year’s Eve!
Florence is very close, about 20 km driving far by high-speed roads, so the time needed is very few. Other interesting towns and villages (such us, for example, San Gimignano, Siena or Volterra) are not far at all.

Villa Casa Di Monte, Montespertoli village. In this case, you will find a villa farmhouse with a real farm nearby, belonging to the same owners, producing good wines, liquors, honey… a cozy villa for holidays. The villa may accommodate 11 or 12 people and is very well equipped for babies and small children (high-chairs, baby-beds, cots are all provided for free). In case your group is of 4-6 people only, it is possible as well to rent just half of the villa because it may be easily divided into 2 apartments, each one with private entrance and full privacy. The villa (or the apartments) are self-catering accommodations, but catering is available upon request.
Babies and children are very welcomed here by the Simoncini family! Furthermore, some “plus” are available, such us: a PC with ADSL-Internet-Connection at guests disposal, a barbecue area, a rack in the kitchen with typical products from the farm. Very interesting are also the possibilities to have some meals prepared (also the New Year’s dinner) and to attend to wine-tasting or olive-oil-tasting.
In this case too, from the villa is very easy to reach Florence, Siena and other well-known Tuscan villages and towns.

Mulino dell’Abate (The Abbot’s Mill) is located in the village of Sambuca, near Tavarnelle Val Di Pesa. The Mill was built on 1170 along the Pesa river, its ancient medieval structure is still preserved due to a very careful restoration work done by the today owners, the Donati family, that also changed some rooms into self-catering apartments for holidays. In each accommodation you may still admire the ancient cotto-floors and the ceilings with wooden beams and cotto-bricks exposed. The mill is located in a strategic position to reach Florence, Siena and San Gimignano in less than 20 minutes by car.
The mill offers 4 charming apartments (some are large up to 70 squared metres) and 2 wonderful cottages located in a nice position in the large park belonging to the estate, also provided with BBQ area. Each one is per 2 persons for a very romantic escape, not only during Christmas or New Year, but groups of friends may rent more apartments, since some may communicate together thanks to internal doors. Each accommodation has its own kitchen or kitchen-corner, a private outdoor space with table and chairs, a private parking area.
When I have been there, I was really surprised by the mill’s peaceful location, all silent around, you could really hear the birds singing. The Mill is the most ancient of all the Chianti area, it is truly romantic and cozy. I suggest it to people who like to relax (body massages, face masks and face massages, as well as pedicure and manicurist may be organized by the owners for their guests) far from the city noise, and enjoy the most of the Chianti countryside !

Villa Le Botti, Montagnana village, near Montespertoli. It is the typical Chianti country villa: the furniture is of a very high standard and immediately you may feel that you are staying in a very cozy, warm accommodation. The villa is big, it may sleep up to 12-13 persons because it has 3 double-bedrooms plus 2 triple bedrooms; furthermore, in case you are 15 persons, just 5 steps far from the main villa there is a cottage that sleeps 2 more people.
An important details: the villa has 6 bathrooms at guests’ disposal! The dining room is large enough to sit 15 people at the table. This villa is the best choice for “big” families or large groups!
At Villa le Botti’s there is also a nice green park, outdoors areas, tv-sat inside the livingroom, and a BBQ area. Upon request, the owners may cook for you Tuscan dinners or breakfasts.

Christmas and New Year holidays in Tuscany: arts, traditions and food. Beside my passion to Tuscany and “its world”, honestly I have to write that it is now very frequent that people are like to spend their Christmas and New Year days in Tuscany. Perhaps they are attracted by the good food (of course during these days, Tuscan people are used cooking incredible amount of food for their families and friends, as well as traditional Christmas cakes – very very good!). But, together with this “caloric” appeal, we have to underline other Tuscan attractions, some well-known, some hidden to the most.
First of all, I recall your attention on the most important Tuscan “city of art”. Firenze, Siena, Pisa, Lucca, Volterra: and the list may continue more and more … basically even the littlest village in Tuscany has its art masterpieces and attractions. Xmas holidays are the best occasion to discover the most important Tuscan city squares, where, on New Year’s Eve, just before midnight, most of the Tuscan people (hundreds and hundreds) group together to celebrate the birth of the New Year while listening to a great pop-music concert or attending a show of lights and performances.
But, beside the main Tuscan towns, I cannot forget the little villages and the countryside. The demand for apartments for holidays and villas is as high during Xmas as during Summer. The most important Tuscan regions such as Chianti or Maremma have a strong appeal: stunning landscapes and far-from-the-crowd little charming villages, thermal baths, wonderful wine, tasty food … all very good reasons for looking for an accommodation in Tuscany on Christmas and New Year.
