Mulino dell’Abate is a holiday home or holiday farmhouse in Chianti. It is located in the village of Sambuca, near the little town of Tavarnelle Val Di Pesa. It is an ancient medieval mill, known from the XII century as a place to stay among travellers on the Francigena road (via Francigena); it has been recently restored and it is today appreciated a san idyllic place to spend romantic holidays in Tuscany or better in Chianti: walls in stones, ceilings in wood and cotto, cotto-floors and a lush greenery all around suggest an intimate and cosy atmosphere and make this place the ideal destination for whom is looking for a far from the noise holiday, away from the city (away but close to Florence because it is only 25 km far; Siena is instead 35 km far).
At Mulino dell’Abate (The Abbot’s Mill) there are very nice and comfortable apartments for 2 people (from 50 to 70 squared metres large) or for 4 people, a large swimming-pool and a large park equipped with barbecue areas, tables and chairs to relax or organize a party “open-air”!

At Mulino dell’Abate you may rent apartments for holidays fully equipped with a kitchen or kitchen-corner or kitchenette, so that you will cater for yourself and you will be able to conserve you own rhythms. You will appreciate the sweet, relaxing atmosphere at the Mill. But, very good typical restaurants and pizzerias are available nearby: the Donati family, the owners, will not miss to suggest you the local addresses to taste the best Chianti food! Furthermore, as already written above, the nicer and interesting Chianti villages and towns are reachable within drives of 20 minutes: don’t miss the wine-tasting at the farms or at the many wine-shops around!
Usually, the apartments are rented weekly, especially during Summer, but at the Mill the owners will always find the best solution to satisfy your needs, and they are also available for a not Saturday-Saturday rental. One-night rentals are possible as well. The Mulino dell’Abate is open all the year round.
